Doesn't she look like Cindy Lou Who???
On Saturday morning we had breakfast with Santa Claus! Every year the math honor society at my school invites all the children of the faculty and staff to a pancake breakfast. The kids eat chocolate chip pancakes and chocolate milk, make Christmas ornaments, and get to meet the one and only SANTA CLAUS. Santa brings a present for each child, and they are even allowed to open it early!! Gracie got a "Leap Frog Alphabet Caterpillar"! She loves it!

There were about 40 kids there and the high school students really got into being Santa's little elves. It was also nice to get to spend some time with my colleagues in a different atmosphere. We were all in parent mode not teacher mode. Bryan, Grace, and I had a great time!

I think G looks just like me when I was her age.
(That sweater she has on was mine and my sister's we were babies!)
In this picture she doesn't look like a baby anymore. She looks like a little girl!!
Gracie will be 9 months old on Sunday. She has two teeth coming in and is eating lots of table food now. In fact, she would prefer to feed herself. She eats bits of tomato, macaroni and cheese, chicken, black beans, scrambled eggs, pancakes, bread, waffles, cheerios, cheddar cheese, apples, bananas, peaches, broccoli....and the list goes on. Needless to say, her diapers are always a surprise for us!
She is continuing to crawl, but likes to stand all the time. She"cruises" along the couch, coffee table, or anyone sitting on the couch. She waves "goodbye" all the time, claps her hands, dances to music...and the piece de resistance...if you ask her what a doggie says, she responds...WOOF!!!

Love the jeans!! She's so hip!!
Hello!!
I know she's my kid, but...what a gorgeous little girl!!
So, Friday night, Bryan got Gracie out of her carseat and found a little divot in Gracie's bottom gum. Yep...she's got her first tooth coming through!! There is a little hole there now, but nothing's popping out yet. I'm sure it will come through this week! I can't wait!! Don't you know I'm going to hound her until I get a pic!! I just love it!!

I Can Wave Now!!!
Ok...so I FINALLY figured out how to load my FLIP videos onto the blog! I've only had the thing for 8 months...yeesh! This evening, Gracie was eating her beef and vegetables...hence the yellow face...and would wave at Bryan as he was cooking dinner. I am absolutely shocked that she did it again with the video camera out. She never does that!!
8 months old today!!!
One of the MANY car rides from Mississippi to Louisiana!
This was taken at dinner on Saturday night. It was about 2 hours past her bedtime. Look at how red her eyes are...but she's still smiling!!

Grace is officially 8 months old today! She is growing like crazy! She wants to be down on the floor all the time. She can crawl pretty fast too. For the past three weeks she has been pulling herself up to a standing position. She grabs hold of anything she can and just pops right up like a pro.
She is now eating small pieces of bread, hard cheese, fruits, veggies, and those ever delicious "meat sticks"! Her favorite things to play with are magazines. She can rip and tear them apart at her heart's content. Gracie also loves to be read to. Her favorite books are Brown bear, brown bear what do you see? and Polar bear, polar bear what do you hear? I think the likes the repetitiveness!!
Bryan and I are getting a little taste of her temper as well. She will cry dramatically when you take a toy away from her. Her nickname is DQ...Drama Queen!!
This past weekend, we flew to Gulfport, Mississippi to celebrate Grandma Fox's 98th birthday. It was a whirlwind trip. We got to visit with Grandma Ellie, Aunt Caroline, Sarah, and Aunt Kathy for just a few hours and the only time we were able to spend with Grandma Fox was at her dinner.
The trip was exhausting for all of us. We did a TON of driving and our schedules were way off. Gracie was a little trooper though. She was really good considering she was out of her element. It certainly wasn't a relaxing trip, but we were very glad we got to see at least some of the family!!
