Gracie still wakes up every two hours to eat, but we thought it would be a good idea to start getting her used to her crib. We've been putting her in it for naps during the day, but last night was the first night she slept in her crib!! She didn't have any problems!!

2 months old!

On Friday morning, we met our friends Rebecca and her son Logan and Cari and her daughter Caroline at the park. We enjoyed breakfast together then took some pictures of the kids. It was a really nice day...the sun was out, but there was a cool breeze. It was very pleasant to be outside!

That afternoon I took Gracie to the doctor for her 2 month checkup. Her doctor was so pleased to see how well she is growing. Since she was on the low normal size at birth, the doctor wanted to monitor her growth rate a little closer. Well, she is almost double her birth weight at 9lbs 2oz.

She passed her exam with flying colors. Dr. Andrew is wonderful and she really likes Gracie (who doesn't). After she answered all of my questions and finished the exam, the nurse came in to give Gracie her shots. She got three in one leg, two in the other, and an oral vaccine. Gracie cried for about 5 minutes, then was ok with everything. I kept myself composed until we got in the car to go home. I cried for a few minutes because I hated seeing my sweet little baby in pain. Thank goodness babies are resilient...if they weren't I would be more of a nervous wreck than I already am!

All in all, she did great! She didn't run a fever and there was no swelling at the vaccine sites. What a little trooper!

Gracie really likes taking baths! We put her little tub in the kitchen sink and use the sprayer on her. She just lays there and enjoys it.

When I was taking pictures of Gracie, Simon and Grumman decided they needed to curl up with the baby for a nice cozy nap! How funny!

New Milestones

On the morning of Easter Sunday Gracie smiled at me for the first time. my heart just melted! I wanted to call everyone and tell them what I saw! She has been smiling a lot more these past two weeks. Her smile is absolutely beautiful!

This week she has started putting her little fists in her mouth. She does this a lot when she's hungry. It seems to help comfort her a little bit, but she's like me...when she's hungry, she gets cranky!!

She goes to the doctor next Friday for her 2 month check up and her first set of shots. I have no idea how that will go and I'm not looking forward to it. But, we'll have to jump off that bridge when we get to it!

Time is flying by!

I meant to put this picture on the site when I announced the arrival of baby Grace. This was taken about 2 hours after she was born. She looks so tiny in Bryan's arms. I can't believe how small she was!

We saw the doctor yesterday because she has had some trouble with reflux. He put her on some medicine which should help the spitting up and crankiness. (I am praying it will work!) She weighed in at 8lbs...she's getting so big, so fast!
